The wrath of the escalator

The escalator at one of the Metro stops in Virginia decided to devour my friend Taryn's shoe a couple weeks ago. This is the aftermath of the devastation. Although the shoe met it's brutal demise, the foot arose unscathed. Logic would direct most criticism towards the design of the escalator, I, however, decided to blame Virginia and call it good.

There's support groups for this. Don't be afraid to take that step.

I love wearing slippers like those, fitting loose. While walking I let such slippers come halfway off my feet with every step. Rather often a slipper stays behind, fun to pretend that I don't notice. I continue some six steps with only on one foot a slipper....

Yes me too, I hardly own any other than loose fitting slides. Some patent with 3" heels, lots of common leather or suede. But I like most to wear black satin slides with fluffs on top and 1" wedge heels. Some six weeks after buying a pair they fit very loose indeed, sometimes they got soaked in the rain and dry again while I walk. Rather often such a slide slips off and I love to ignore that loss. Especially exciting to let one of my slides slip off when strolling in a mall! Great fun when a man sees this elderly lady walk on after a slide slipped off her foot. He picks up the lost slide and comes after me: "Excuse me Madam, you lost one of your mules..."
